Dorothy Elliot Allison est une chanteuse écossaise née en 1969 à Édimbourg, elle a participé entre autres à un duo avec Pete Doherty et à une collaboration avec Death in Vegas dans The Contino Sessions et plus particulièrement sur Dirge.

Originally a founder of ONE DOVE in 1991, Dot released one LP, "Morning Dove White", a Weatherall-produced post-club classic. She then signed to Heavenly Records and in 1999 released her critically acclaimed debut solo LP, "AFTERGLOW", whose classic-pop beauty featured collaborations with Mani (Stone Roses), Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), Arab Strap and Hal David, among others. Following AFTERGLOW's release, Dot toured internationally for a year before settling back into the studio to record "WE ARE SCIENCE", her Dave Fridmann/Keith Tenniswood/self-produced second solo LP, released in 2002.

Dress, un son, une voix, des textes qui ne tombent pas dans les stéréotypes de la plupart des musiques actuelles. L'originalité du groupe est un mélange de sensualité soul vocal et d'influences rock.

Dress est un nouveau groupe suisse, mouvance pop anglaise, fondé à Lausanne en 2005, composé de Brigitte Buhlmann-Poget (vocal) et Laurent Poget (guitares). La rencontre d'une voix et d'un guitariste qui, malgré des backgrounds musicaux différents, créent un son original inspiré par... Sting, Seal, Prince, Stevie Wonder (Brigitte) ou Led Zeppelin, The Police, Radiohead, Coldplay (Laurent).

Le courant passe : ils écrivent et composent ensemble leurs premiers morceaux en 2003. Après quelques démos, le groupe voit le jour. En 2005, convaincus du potentiel de leur musique, ils décident d'enregistrer un album au Studio Artefax à Lausanne avec Bernard Amaudruz , ingénieur du son et co-réalisateur. Pour exprimer pleinement la personnalité de cet album, ils font appel à la créativité de Pierre Audétat , claviers, sampler, Christophe Calpini , batterie, percussions, Mimmo Pisino , basse.

Album sorti en Suisse chez Disques Office, mars 2007.
